  5. Amy,
It must feel great as you move closer to pub date! The web site is amazing - a touch ethereal, with elegance. Read your excerpt -beautiful, and web site seems to really reflect tone of book. For us newbies, can you explain what happens with the galleys?

  6. Thank you, Gail!

Therese, I'll send one your way. Only fair since Larramie sent one of SOUVENIR to me. An, yes, Brian is AMAZING! I highly recommend him as a web site designer.

Hi, Joanne, thanks for stopping by. Galleys or ARCs (advanced reader copies) are sent to booksellers to encourage them to order the book; to magazines and newspapers for review/interview purposes; and to other writers for possible endorsement (blurbs). They're sent several months in advance to allow ample timeto fulfill each goal. If you've ever been to the back room of a bookstore or to a book editor's office, you'll see these stacked floor to ceiling. It's a tough old world out there trying to get attention for your beloved book.

Thanks, Tish. I've just learned the cover will change. It's the nature of things in this business, isn't it? Speaking of, INSIDE OUT GIRL's cover is fabulous. Spot on. You must be thrilled.

  15. Woof! That looks great, and you're in an exciting time. Ask them to send me an ARC if they can shake one loose . . .

Are they giving yours out at BEA?

And do you have a tour plan yet?
